ICTPlast is a Training Program on Advanced ICT Tools for enhancing Manufacturing Process Planning competences in Plastic Industries SMEs. It is a funded project in the Call: “Erasmus+ 2016 KA2”, started by 1st September 2016 with a duration of 24 months.
The project partners are from Spain (AVEP), Italy (Proplast), Portugal (Pool-Net) and Slovenia (PCS), and Universities from Spain (UPV-CIGIP) and from France (UB).
ICT is an important factor for maintaining competitiveness and its contribution to the Factories of the Future aims at improving the efficiency, adaptability and sustainability of manufacturing systems as well as their better integration within business processes in an increasingly globalised industrial context.
Technicians of Plastic SMEs involved in Manufacturing Management have a lot of experience and they know how to deal with the problems they usually face. Sometimes they are not familiar enough with the application of Advanced ICT Tools to their work and this means a reduction of competitiveness of their companies.
Technicians of Plastic SMEs should be trained in high-level ICT/Digital competences in order to get them into the new manufacturing models and to allow them increasing the global industry efficiency, as well as their own performance.
The best way to acquire capabilities and the new knowledge is to be directly trained in the use of the proper ICT Tools applied to their own problems.
So, the goals of the project are two: to improve the achievement of high-level ICT and Digital Skills of Technicians of Plastic SMEs and to promote work-based learning, with a training methodology fully based in “learning-by-doing” and focused in the application of the concepts and tools to real cases of each company.
The Training Program includes six modules: Demand Forecasting, Aggregated Production Planning, Master Production Schedule, Production Operations Sequencing, Sourcing Planning and Delivery Planning.

Each module is divided into sessions:
Session 1: Introduction to concepts and tools
Session 2: Working with case studies
Work-in-company Session: working with real cases of the companies
Session 3: Lessons learnt, revision and closure
